Civic Education 0

Abstract

Civic Education  is a compulsory university course for all study programs. This raises several questions. First, why do students of all study programs (humanities, social and natural sciences) need to study Civics? Second, what is the importance of studying Civics for undergraduates and professionals? These questions will be discussed in the introductory civics lecture (Meeting 1). Discussion and learning will use the Discovery Learning and Problem Based Learning Methods. Both of these methods emphasize the activeness of students to explore through various sources and contextualize them in case studies. Through this method, students are expected to be able to internalize how to become mature and responsible citizens when they are going to be involved in society as intellectuals and professionals.
